Sailing the Caribbean with heavy eyes.
Deck chair, debonair, man on the rail,
iced tea, gentle sea, time to set sail;
out of Miami on a ship big as God,
I close my eyes although I know it is odd.
I hear the sky has hues,
little to light my Caribbean snooze.

Sand bar, shooting star, dolphin with grin,
buffet, Frito Lay, tonic and gin;
island to island on a ship big as sky,
O there it is again, that weight on my eye.
I hear there’s no time to lose,
little to lift my Caribbean snooze.

All through the Maid it is a virtual trade
  of song and dance and drink and altitude,
  so I step high to give the evening a try,
  but then there comes this odd shut-eye attitude..

blink, blink, blink, blink,

Algae, Bimini, port of Saint Croix,
sea dreams, in the regimes of ahoy;
on lubber legs I feel like I’m winking out,
some collywobbles as I shuffle about.
In the Atlantic I choose,
little to land my Caribbean snooze.

Salt air, summer wear, island delight,
palmed shore, snorting snore, thinking it’s night;
I try so hard to keep my eyelids apart,
rapid eye movement on the sea from the start.
I hear the trade winds refuse,
little to stop my Caribbean snooze.
