A couple of short poems

Like a Leaf

Floating, fluctuating
phases of me
Can there be a 'you'
when 'you' can't just 'be'?

Walking on air
can't touch the ground
Always unpredictable
the wind blows me around

Like a leaf
I can change my colour
Through seasons I cling
the tree is my protector

Slowly and quietly
I can fall into scattered mess
to bear cracks, worn brown,
and a pained emptiness.

The World Unknown

I hear colours of green, purple, and red,

And see an endless stream of thoughts

Time cannot slow the firing of

the blazing war inside my busy head.



Staring beyond what is in reach,

To beyond a world unknown,

I struggle to decipher the words,

And the varied pitch and tone.



All that comes to me is noise,

With patterned dark and light.

Surrender me to the world unknown,

And unleash my sorry plight.
