Read and judge for yourself |
Prejudiced in Ignorance I hate you. I despise you. I cannot stand you. Why? The reasons may seem silly to you. Nevertheless, you’re different than me. That makes you dangerous. I fear what I do not understand. Moreover, I do not understand you, because you are different. Your difference may be as insignificant as the color of your hair, or the way you talk, or it may be with the way you walk or even more dangerous the way you think. It may even have to do with the color of your skin. It makes no difference to me. You’re different, So there for I fear you, Because I fear change. Moreover, to me that is what you represent change. So I fear you, I hate you, I cannot stand what I do not understand. And in this hate, I'll treat you like you’re less than human. Because that is my nature, To mistreat what I hate, To refuse to understand what is different, Do not judge me. This is the way I was raised. It is what I was preached in the churches, In the home And by the ones that I looked up to the most You call me unreasonable, What do you know? You’re different. You’re not from here. And even if you are, You don't look like me, You don’t think the way I do Even if you do, You’re still different. You say that it is only the facial characteristics that make you different than me. What do I care? You’re still different. So I'll go and hope nothing good for you and all things that are different. I'll live in my sand box with my eyes shielded from what your existence could have brought me. Because I am afraid. I am afraid of what I do not understand. I am afraid of what does not belong in this world of what I already know And I'll go on Hating Fearing Loathing All that I do not understand And refusing to understand all that is different Because different is dangerous |
