Life, a web of lies

each person adds one more

too many, too tangled

withholding the truth

Living is choosing

which lie to believe,

which to dismiss

everything is false

Does it really matter

who started it?

Was it a group effort

or a single act?

Does it really matter?

Love is an illusion

fooling everyone and

everything alike

You lied to me

as I lied to you

each lie adding

to the web

We are all tangled

unable to find

that faint glimmer

that is truth
