If only turning back the clock we could go back in time
The family eating together and so little crime
Watching the Ed Sullivan show every Sunday night
The wonderful Walt Disney Presents – just right

American bandstand every day after school
If you didn’t watch, then you were the fool
Then came the adventures of Spin and Marty
Without them, Mickey Mouse Club wasn’t a party

Clarabelle, Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody
With Dilly Dally and Flub-a-Dub, the cutie
They were great, if not the real thing
So was Princess Summerfall Winterspring

What young boy didn’t love Annette Funicello
We watched every day, with our bowl of Jell-O
All the little girls loved Tim Considine
Spin was a heart throb, and he was so fine

Simpler times, not one drive by shooting
Fewer corporations lying and polluting
Before scientists started spreading aids
Before congress made insider trades

These are the days that will never come back
Since then, our society has come off the track
The world is spinning out of control
Too many people have sold their soul

If this seems like we’re repeating history
Then it should come as no mystery
That our end will come about too soon
Even before we populate Mars or the moon
