A violinist and a dancer have a performance together. They soon become friends. |
The violinist got hurry in a rush. She had to preform in front of thousands of people, including five judges. She had played in front of a crowd before, even for people judging her, but never in front of so many. She looked to the dancer to the left of her. She also had to preform, but she didn't look nervous. The violinist looked closer, and she could tell that the girl's hands were shaking as she put her long blonde hair up in a ponytail. The violinist looked in the mirror and tried fixing her short brown hair. I must learn to hide my fear, she thought. Perhaps the dancer could give me some advice, we are working together after all. "Hello, my name is Alexis. What's yours?" The violinist held out her hand. "I-I'm Anna," the dancer stuttered. Alexis couldn't help but smile as she heard the anxiety in Anna's voice. "You scared too?" Anna nodded. "My mom used to tell me that whenever I got nervous or afraid, just take a bunch of deep breaths and hide your emotions." Alexis tried it. "That does kinda help..." She started saying, but she got cut off by the director, Mr. Nicoletti. "Come on girls, you gotta go preform!" He yelled. Alexis grabbed her violin. "Good luck," she told Anna. "You too," she replied. Then they headed out the double doors to the large stage. Alexis was not any more nervous in her entire life. She held the violin bow shakily, and began playing. Soon the large room was filled with the beautiful notes of the instrument. Suddenly, her finger slipped, causing a wrong note. She began to panic. Meanwhile, Anna focused on moving her body on beat to the music. She noticed that something about the piece didn't sound right, and then she realized that Alexis messed up. She thought of an idea, and gave her a look that said follow my lead. Alexis understood, and nodded slightly. Soon, Anna began making her steps bouncier, to fit the slip of the violin. Alexis also started changing the rhythm of the song, and together they covered the mistake. When the performance ended, they went back into the dressing room to congratulate each other. "Wow, you really saved my life," Alexis took a huge sigh of relief. Anna smiled. "Nah, it's no problem. You would of done the same for me." She looked into Alexis's eyes, and then hugged her. And from that point, they became best friends. |
