a short poem i wrote. enjoy
Their is a place in the dark,
Where a beast hides, teeth razor sharp.
It rips and tears at all who enter,
Intruders, its only mission is to deter.
As I dwell (in this dark, wretched place) wasting away,
With my friend the Monster, forever to stay.
It (or do I?) keeps me prisoner here,
For I (yes I, imprisoned within) hold it dear.
Trapped (I now must admit) of my own design,
In this cave that I (lonely me) did find.
For the Beast (at once) is my friend and my foe.
For i found this cave (all by myself) and at once, did know,
I would never (until my soul was free) be able to leave, or see,
the outside world again, though I could hear the sea.
And as the dark closes in (the endless sleep I will dream) I know (it is plain to see)
Twas love (maddening, nonsensical, glorious love!) for the Beast that killed me.
