A girl runs for her life
I gotta keep moving, one wrong step and I’m dead, if I just make it to the pond  I’ll be alright. They weren’t alright, no, there were ten of us, I think it’s just me now but I can’t risk looking back. My legs are sore, they feel like heavy lead logs, oh god I would love to rest, just for a minute, thirty seconds, fifteen even, ten? No! I’ve got to keep moving. They got Jake, I saw it, one of those smelly fuckers bit his arm, he smiled at me and mouthed the words ‘I love you’ before he blew his own head off. I’ve got to make it, for the both of us, but do I want to make if he didn’t? I can’t ask myself that, not yet, I can’t make that decision in a snap and if I pause to think I'm dead. So I keep moving, I gotta make it to the pond, if I make it to the pond I’ll be alright, we can complete the plan, lead them under the metal arch way and blow it. Do I have the explosives?  Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, who had the explosives? Are they still running with me? There’s no point with out the dynamite, fuck, fuck, fuck- oh wait, I’ve got them. That’s why my back feels so heavy they were in Jake’s back pack, that’s right, I remember, he tossed it to me. Right before his beautiful face split apart, pieces of his skull and—no, stop! I can’t think about that, I’ll never make if I think about that. I just gotta keep moving, I can mourn for him later, I suspect I may be morning all of them. The footsteps behind me are clumsy and slow, not human, any human in this situation would be moving fast and painfully like I am. Is there no one left? Maybe just a peak... NO! Idiot, just keep moving! If they’re at the pond then they made it, if they’re not they didn’t. It doesn’t matter who’s left until I get there, I just gotta make it to the pond and I’ll be fine. Keep moving girl, don’t think about Jake, or Pete or Christine, no, don't think about any of them. If they’re alive they’ll be at the pond. Jake isn’t alive. Oh god, I need a rest, I can't-- NO! Just make it to the pond, blow those fuckers that took him from me. I’ll be fine at the pond. Glad to see their part's flying through the air like Jake's-- oh god, Jake. I saw his brains fan out in the air. I can't, I can't, I can't. NO! Keep moving. Get through under the bridge, through the gate, to the pond, then blows those fuckers to hell where they belong.  Something is happening behind me, they’re screeching, it sounds like a gleeful cheer, if gleeful cheers were horrifying and completely fucked up beyond all recognition. At least one person was behind me, not anymore, oh fuck, oh shit, oh fuck, oh shit, just keep moving, ignore the pains in my legs, the pains in my gut, my head, my heart, oh Jake, I’m sorry it was you and not me, please, please, I need to rest, no! If it had been me I would want him to make, they were reaching for me, he got in the way, he died for me, I have to make it, I just got to keep moving, they all counting on me on the other side, me and only me, is it only me? No, no, someone is there, I’m not that great that I would be the only one left, I’ve just got to keep moving, if I can make it to the pond then I’ll be
