Just a journal of how my Valentines Day went. |
Tuesday, Feb.14, 2012. Today was Valentines Day and it was surprising. The night before, I was focused on finishing my photography project and my French project which is due tomorrow and the day after. My parents dropped me off to school and my mother told me, “I hope you get a rose.” It didn’t feel like Valentines Day – probably because I was focusing on my projects. In the morning I had Physical Ed., and then English the next. During lunch, I ate with my friends and this boy who was in grade 10 came to our hall (I call it the ‘grade 9’ hall) with a “Will you please be my Valentine?” sign and a single rose in his hands. He was pretty well known – so he showed a lot of other grade 9s that he knew his sign. He then came to my group of friends and showed us the poster. I wished him good luck with whom he would give the rose to. Then he looked at my friend and I, and he said, “You.” I looked at my friend, expecting for it to be her and she did too. Then he clarified himself, “Yes, you.” And he pointed at me. I was very surprised! I got caught completely off guard. And this formed a large crowd of grade 9s to whistle and say ‘awes’. He gave me the rose and I felt grateful. I got the hint that some of the other grade 10s were walking around the halls and picking a random boy/girl to give a rose to. I found that my luck was overflowing today and I got to be the random girl that they made happy. I don’t know for sure though if it was a random pick, but who knows? I finally know how my mother felt when she got a rose back in her younger days. Well, I have to go rehearse my script for my French project tomorrow. Bonne nuit everyone! (: |
