Walking through Upper Dean Market on a Saturday afternoon |
[Introduction]
Walking through Upper Dean Market on a Saturday afternoon With the sunshine précising into my body and reflecting its rays on my sunglass I made my way through the crowd of people shopping in Bullring to the nearest McDonald to get an ice-cream to cool my body temperature. “Can I help you”? The young man in his head Turban asked: I said “one Mcflury please” He smiled as I handed in my money and he gave my chosen ice-cream. “Have a good day” he called out as I made my way out of the restaurant to find a sit outside to eat my ice-cream. Walking my way through the crowd as I made my way to a sitting space I saw on a big slab stone not so far away I heard a voice in the crowd that said; “repent for the judgement day is at hand”. I looked around to where the voice came from and say a man his his black jacket With his bible on the left hand and a microphone on the other I smiled and thought to myself ‘what a cliché’. Walking on by, I got to the sitting space I saw on earlier and sat down to eat my ice-cream One spoon, two spoon, I ate as I enjoyed my Mcflury ice-cream. Ha! Ha! Ha! I heard and to my left, I looked and saw four men in a black suite and a small cap placed at the centre on their head talking and laughing amongst each other I quickly looked away to my right as they noticed my stare. To my right I looked and saw three men with long bears standing around a table wearing white overall caftan and handing out some small books and leaflets to passerby. As my eyes précised through the small gap left between two of the men, I noticed a banner that read “learn in Islam”. I thought to myself, ‘Religion is like a Market place’, Where different sellers displays their products and call out on consumers to come and buy their products. Like the market place, Religion is a place where people with different believes advertises their faith, calls out on others to hear their faith and try to make others learn and understand their religious believes. |
