A shell, empty and hollow as it is.
Yet, filled with want and desire.
Years pass, digging me out,
Eating away without mercy.
Each year, I lose more.
Feeling of lack engulfing me.
Each year, I want more.
To replace all that is gone.
But, the years keep hollowing me.
Without pause or slowing down.
Tomorrow, tomorrow,tomorrow,
Like water held in hand,
Leaking through the seams and holes.
Leaving a memory of once,
And the present of nothing.
Inevitable.
Soon, I will become all but an empty shell.
Eventually, I am nothing.
