constructive venting
Like tidal waves approaching the seashore, so my emotions well up in me
Unrelenting, undying, unforgiving
How did I come to be in this place?
A place where despair and regret ravage me...
As far as my mind’s eye can see, there are walls of stone
Encompassing all that I am, and all that I fear I will ever be.

If only I could return to the place from which I came
If only I could right the wrongs
If only I could have foreseen these things which now hold me back
So that I could have hardened myself and thwarted this enemy within

But alas, there is no use lamenting
For it only enables weakness
I must be strong
I must continue down the path I was meant to walk
I must rise up and face the truth of this life for which I was chosen

I must pass on to those who come after me
The knowledge, the wisdom, and the courage
To forge ahead
Even in times of darkness, in times of weakness, and in times of doubt

For it is with those who live up to challenge who reap the rewards
And it is those who walk steadfast into the darkness who will emerge into light
