It was the day I was dragged
via my own car
to the house of the nag
i call my mother
the structure was new
as was the man
of this aging shrew
who spared no demand
finally i begged reprieve
rushed to the car
and hastened to leave
- never did get that far
I slowed at the corner
- should have slammed the X
even now i dazedly ponder
what happened next
the ground shivered
the road shaked
I thought, "mom's so angered
she sent me an earthquake!"
My tires descended
- Not a FLAT too?
ain't that spendid?
Now what should I do?
Opening the car door
I saw - lo and behold
I had the honor
of finding the country's first sinkhole
i sprang onto the car's top
my great escape well timed
a moment later the rest of the car dropped
and i'd ripped my pants as i'd climbed
bottom- bare by the road
like a distinctly disheveled looking mouse
I shouldered my heart's heavy load
and resolutely walked back to
my mother's house
