Last night I had a dream
So wonderful and bright
There was sunshine all around
And everything was right

The birds sang the bells rang
The sky was endless blue
It reminded me of you
The man I never knew

When you entered in my mind
I turned my head only to find
Your arms were opened out to me
I ran into them instantly

We ran and jumped and flew and played
How happy I’d be if you had stayed
As we walked along the beach I asked
“Why’d you have to go?”

You turned to me with tear filled eyes
Said “honey I don’t know”
And my eyes began to rain
You sang to ease my pain

You said

“It’s better than is seems
You see
I may be dead
But I’m alive within your dreams”

I woke in the morning
To the day I had to give
And even though you died
In my dreams you live
