In a dark alley three men talk.
One white, one black and one hidden in shadows.
“What are you friend?” asks the hidden man.
“I am White.” says the first man.
The hidden man nods sagely and turns to the other and asks, “What are you friend?”
“I am Black.” he responds.
Hidden looks to White. “What makes you what you are?”
White says, “Why my brain! I am so smart and intelligent! Not like Black over there. He's as stupid as they come. Dangerous too.”
Hidden turns to Black. “And you? What makes you what you are?”
Black says, “Why my body! I can run so fast and lift very heavy objects with ease! Not like White. He looks so weak. No wonder he's so mean.”
Hidden looks at White. “Do you hate the Black?”
“Why yes! He has what I want! I want the popularity and strength he has!
Hidden turns to Black. “Do you hate White?”
“Why yes! He looks down on me all the time! I want his freedom!”
Hidden steps into the light and asks each man what he is now that he is Revealed.
“Why, you are White of course!” says White.
“No, he is Black, definitely!” says Black.
Revealed looks at both men and says, “I am neither Black nor White. I am not a Color. I am Human. You are not Black and you are not White. We are a race of Humans, not of Colors. We are all made of the same materials, common blood runs through our veins.”
Don't be a Color.
Be a Human.
