frustration, dead love, distance
She's the girl who's dreaming

Who smiles, shining gleaming

The one who came too soon

Touching down in a yellow balloon

The one who came too late

Waiting patiently outside the gate

I stuck around too long

Drowned in a song

She can't fall into me now

Relieve her weight, any way how

Channeling her energy to me

Crushing hopes I see in dreams

She will be okay

She hinders us in every way

Eyes search me up and down

Looking for answers, nothing found

Forging arbitrary discussion

Praying for no interruption

So close to the ground

She comes back down

Beats stolen from her heart

But how many were there to start

Closing myself, the door to me

And carve a peephole so I can see

Troubled scene behind the door

Grassy green floods the floor

She doesn't come inside, or even turn the knob

Her eye fills the hole and she stifles a sob

Seeing her pain, I push her away

Into the rain, until another day

Just one more with storms for eyes

But I look closer at the soul they hide

Hopping rocks and skipping stones

Passing evenings that drug on long

Spending hours that pass in seconds

Querying our lives, what some might call wreckage

Wants to make now last longer

Wants to alleviate my hunger

Draws my face, she draws me in

To throw it to waste again

She reserves apologies for me

And binds our legs around our knees

I struggle, we squirm, try to get up

Only one muscle propels us up

She tugs at my shirt

So persistent it hurts

Says her face is in water

Knees all bruised, face couldn't get hotter

I lick wounds, she hides scars

She thought I didn't, but I keep my guard

So harshly he takes her

Of all but life he raped her

I try to forget and and I recover

I try to forget, and I find a new lover

Showed up too late to be so bold

My hand is no longer her's to hold

She's in too deep to cut me out

I'm in too deep. So I shut her out.
