A senryu, five chains. For Writer's Cramp

In all the King’s court,
Are nobles with appetites.
They can’t be fulfilled.

They take once and twice,
Then they take a little more.
They take a lot more.

What scraps we do have,
To feed our starving bellies,
Is never enough.

Trampled by their greed,
They take whatever they want,
And stuff their faces.

With not a thing left,
We serfs collapse in the fields.
We are forgotten.
