How much second place would mean - Poem

She thinks it hurts,
It's a pain so deep.
I watch her pathetic face,
Watch the tears leak.
Slowly and stupidly,
Leaving trails down her face,
She thinks it hurts bad,
What would she do in MY place?
She thinks it's never gonna get better,
She thinks it's all stormy weather,
She doesn't know how to deal,
With hurt so surreal.
But I'm stronger than that,
You've tested that fact.
She thinks second place,
Is as bad as it gets,
Never being an option,
I have to object.
