The Battle

He tried to get sober so far he is fine,
but now it comes down to the test of time.

Forgive and forget is what i've been told,
but how to forgive someone so cold.

I felt like a mouse so scared and alone,
as the man my mom loves destroyed my home.

My mom needs to protect the three babies she has,
she does not need another that is also a dad.

Now there's a battle between him and me,
mom tries to keep things together at the seam.
