A voice, a rasping whisper, calls out to me. (Form: Licentia Rhyme Form) |
Atrum Vox Vocis (Dark Voices) A voice, a rasping whisper, calls out to me. In pleading words, it entreats to be set free. Trapped within a dark recess, I hear its wail cajoling me to release it from its jail. Messages of pain, of death, and even worse, sung in dulcet tones, each forms a darker verse. From stygian depths I have sealed from the light vile thoughts find purchase in the words I write. Its taint infects the ink that creates each word sprawling across pages so it can be heard. A voice, a rasping whisper, calls out to me. In pleading words, it entreats to be set free. Trapped within a dark recess, I hear its wail cajoling me to release it from its jail. Its shadowed voice appeals to my vanity and shields me from seeing its insanity. It embraces its torment and invites me to accept as norm its irrational plea. The beauty of torture, the peace found in death, offered as a perfume on its fetid breath. I find myself weakening from the assault persuaded by the voice from an obscene vault. A voice, a rasping whisper, calls out to me. In pleading words, it entreats to be set free. Messages of pain, of death, and even worse, sung in dulcet tones, each forms a darker verse. Their hypnotic melodies beguile the mind as they conjure images before eyes blind until their arcane messages they bestow and the dark cascading words begin to flow. Enthralled by the voice until I can’t ignore and the words fracture on a paper shore. Still, no peace comes from the voices of the dead, who torment me from the shades within my head. A voice, a rasping whisper, calls out to me. In pleading words, it entreats to be set free. Notes: An entry for "TLC -- Try your Luck Contest!!"
