The Feeling

I would rather die then feel this pain
There is no laughter or joy to be gained
I have become empty as the void of space
An emptiness only you can replace

If I could only search my very soul
For days and months and years
If that would be enough time
I'd find all my greatest fears

And greatest of these fears
That haunts me every day
Is how you feel about me now
And wish I'd go away

This feeling leaves me numb
As in the coldest night
I am lost in the darkness
Lost in all my plight

If the very sky told my tale
What colors would you see
A dark night veil
With no stars or moon to guide me

And now I sit and wonder
I think with each passing breath
What is there to live for
Why not just bring death

I watch in sadness
As my life slowly fades away
I'm not trying anymore
To fight these shades of gray

There is no silver lining
No such good news in which to hope
There is no one to help me
Not a soul to help me cope

As I look upon myself I see what I've become
And as I look I never thought I'd be the one
The one that has only darkness in which to hide
The one that never again will be whole inside
