Intro to a story I'm starting-A normal girl shrouded in mystery looks for magic in life. |
A girl looked out onto the rough landscape as the sun began to set. She was waiting for the moon, as usual. She had long black hair and deep brown eyes. She was of an average build, but rather tall for her age. Her name was Cassandra Jones, and she loved the night. Cassandra watched the moon rise every night from the balcony of her house, no matter what the weather. Somehow, it didn’t feel right to her if she went to bed without knowing that the moon was up and shining bright in the sky. Tonight was the full moon, and Cassandra was still looking up into the dark night sky, even though the moon had risen a while ago and it was already 11:30. She always stayed up this late, and never seemed to be tired, yet her father was shaking her shoulder gently, telling her to go to bed. “But, Dad, It’s the full moon and I’m not even tired yet! Can’t I stay a bit longer to watch it?” she pleaded. “No, It’s very late and you must be getting to bed, or you won’t be able to wake up for school tomorrow.” Mr. Jones gently but firmly replied, ruffling his daughter’s hair, even though she was almost twelve. “Dad, I told you not to do that!” cried Cassandra, ducking below her father’s reach. Mr. Jones smiled at Cassandra and motioned toward the door. “Are you coming in or not?” Cassandra sighed and reluctantly walked toward the door. Before she stepped in the house, she took a last glance at the full moon and said softly to herself, “I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a great day.” Then she stepped in the house and pulled the door gently shut, watching the moon the whole time. |
