For someone I liked
The light, drowning out the pain.

My soul, seeing the blackened twilight which once connected our dreams.

The path, now faded, now burnt with your flame and the charcoal of my heart.

Is it the lingering aroma of tomorrow that frightens me so?

Or is it your smile which chains me here?

To what seems like the only smile that ever flowed and crashed upon my shores,

The only lips that would leave tingles and sorrow upon my skin,

The only eyes that beamed an essence of love into my very flesh.

My pain drowns out the very light that is left of you, of me, and of us.

Leading it towards the teal embrace of water that meets sand.
