A Late Winter Storm

The first day
of Spring
is stillbirth
with frost in it's hair
a brittle complexion
i imagine
each snowflake
as one more
dead
falling to Earth
in crystal veneer
to slow us down
and feel
but it's too late
too warm
and they melt
before they can gather
and say
what they came to say
