Okay people of writing.com, here's the deal, I am writing a review on Avatar: The Last Airbender the movie. So, I watched about ten minutes of the movie and honestly, that ten minutes was dreadful. I am a HUGE fan of the animated series that the movie is based on and have watched all of the episodes several times. Anyway, back to the movie, the casting was all wrong. Sokka and Katara are meant to be very tan yet they cast pale white actors. They pronounce a lot of names wrong as well, like for Aang they pronounce it ah-ng but it is supposed to be ain-g. The actor they used for Prince Zuko was not Caucasian like it portrays in the show. Iroh, Zuko's uncle, was not Caucasian either. I am not racist, my point is that in the animated series these people are Caucasian. The move, in all honesty, is a disgrace to the show. It takes so much time to actually tell the plot that there is no time for dramatization. The movie does not even tell the story right and it is not at all exciting. It has poor special effects and the actors have awful skill. I would not recommend this movie to anyone, actually I recommend you incinerate any thought of watching it, for it is of horrible quality.
