A poem dedicated to my friend Aaron, who was shot in Seattle.
**NOTE: This is a piece written to be preformed, so there isn't an exact flow or form to it.

Water

Drip, drop, drip, drop
Raindrops washed away the bloodstains,
Left on the side street where a single bullet ended your life,
One tiny fragment of metal,
Melted into a casing,
It entered your body with malicious intent,
And left bearing your vitality,
When it rained,
The water ran red and poured into the gutters,
And the gutters ran red,
And the water flowed to the sea and the sea ran red,
All the water in the world turned red,
And all I could see is the deafening silence of untainted raindrops,
Dripping echoingly into the ghosts of your vitality,
I saw then,
That the world took responsibility for your death,
While God cried pure clear tears,
Our water ran with blood,
His grief was tainted only with innocence,
He held himself blameless,
So I turned my back on the Lord,
And I cry tears of red from eyes and arms and heart,
And with earth our mother I shall grieve.
RIP Aaron.
