My wish no more

I wished upon a shooting star
Hoping it would come true
I had to look deep in my heart
And then I wished for you
I wish we could be together
I wish it would never end
I wish we could be forever
And help my broken heart to mend
But I realized something that put my heart to shame
I can never again have you
We will never be the same
There is nothing left to do
Wishing on a shooting star
Is never going to work
They can't see inside my heart
They have no eyes to look
