Beyond the Books

Duncan McCob was a 13 year old boy. He was polite and well mannered,
although he was the boy who sat alone and never got picked first for the
team. He was never invited to birthday parties or neighborhood events. He was a nobody. No one really paid attention to him- until one day. That day during school when the new bookstore moved into the vacant building on the corner. It started as an innocent trip for a book report but turned into much more. Some say it was destiny. Others believe it was fate. No one really knew for sure but Duncan's life would never be the same again. He traveled to a land far away. A land beyond the books.
