Creator of the Universe

There once was a time when in the recesses of my mind

I was sure of the future and all of my plans

I walked with an upright and swift gait

I spoke with the tongue of well thought out sentences


The world was full of life and adventures

Everyday held a new quest of its own

The trail was always full of new clues

That led to our amazing daily discoveries.



One day the skies grew darker than I’d ever seen

Surety of the future was no longer certain

Upright walk turned to slow and fatigued

Good speech now turned raveled and confused



The world only held fights and battles to survive

Daily was the grind to find the way out alive

No real path for me to follow and do direction to find

Became the ways and times I got lost in



There came a day when the clouds began to break

Still no certainty of future but a way was appearing

The path began to take on a life of its own

Speech once well done found itself returned



Life and I do not see eye to eye often

The road of righteousness is not always easy

The light in the darkness may seem distant

My mouth may not speak words of wisdom



There is still a Creator of the Universe

Who holds me in the palm of His hands

His light will overwhelm any darkness

Regardless I will speak his praise
