Sid is stressed with school finals,so his best friend Tim decides help him.
I had to much stress  thinking about this year’s  finals and how I wasn’t really prepared.

Ready to give up I walked out of fourth period and found my

friend Tim waiting for me by the exit door. He wore a familiar smirk on his face

and motioned his hand for me to follow. I could see on his face that he was happy

about something.

I walked outside and saw Tim securing a large box to the back of his bike rack.

I noticed an extra backpack had been tied to mine as well.

''How's it going book worm Sid? Are you ready for an adventure?''

He said with a smile on his face.

''I don't know Tim, do I have a choice?'' I asked.

He smiled but said nothing.

We rode our bikes up towards the outskirts of town. A detour into the scenic route. We rode up

quietly the whole way up there until my curiosity finally gave in.

''Okay, can you just tell me where we're going Tim?'' I yelled.

''Patience Sid, Patience. Good things come to those don't ask questions'' He replied.

I smiled at his usual nonsense. We rode up the  trail until we reached the cliffs that overlooked

the town hills. Here we set our bikes aside the road and got off.

''We're here'' He exclaimed as he stretched his arms outward towards the clearing.

''Where exactly is here? How'd ya find this place'' I asked still confused.

''Behold Sid, smell the fresh air, take the beauty in, [b}Carpey Di On!

''I think you mean..'' , '' ..that today is a very important day my friend'' he interrupted.

''You know how I've been taking  all those dollars you hide under you bed?'' he went on.

''You've been doing What?!'' I exclaimed. ''Relax my friend relax

remember.. a penny saved is a dollar well spent.'' He began unwrapping the box he had tied behind his bike.

''So the other day I was looking into that book you gave me, the one about airplanes and the uh write...

Brothers. Well did you know that flying is one of the things humans will never ever do

before they die, I mean we all dream of doing it but we never actually do. So I went online did my own research

and got us this.'' He began assembling a hand glider, no easy task. ''Can you take the safety gear from your backpack and put it on. I had realized why it had been heavy. ''I'm not sure about this Tim'' I replied.

Relax he told me, ''I made sure I bought one enough to carry the both of us, its a two-seater.”

You could tell he was excited.  Half scared to death to what I was just about to do. I put on my protective gear, making sure all the straps were on tight. I walked to the edge of the cliff, it seemed like a short slope to run off, but it was enough, that's what Tim had told me anyway.

We both hooked ourselves to the glider, made sure our bike helmets were on tight, ran over the instructions for the take off,

four times, gathered up some courage, and walked to our starting point.

I looked at Tim, he still wore that happy grin, he wanted to do this more than anything. ''Are you ready?'' He asked me,

I took a deep breath looked at the trees below me and said NO, Tim laughed and said ''Don't worry. Remember, the grass is always

softer on the bottom side of the hill.
'' I paused for a quick second, gathering up all the courage I could and yelled ready.

''GO!'' Tim yelled as we both ran down the slope. I ran trying not to lose my balance. My heart

Sank. I screamed as I saw the last foot of ground beneath my shoes disappear. I could hear Tim yelling next to me. ''Whoohoo.'' The wind was up against my face,

my stomach felt queasy but it was an amazing feeling, when I opened my eyes I could not believe what I was seeing. Trees below us, birds flying next by and Tim, his grin had changed to a full grown smile. This was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. We went on gliding, enjoying what most people in life would never see, when suddenly he burst my bubble.

''By the way Sid, I forgot to mention one tiny detail. I never actually read up on how to land this thing.'' ''You What!'' I screamed as we neared the ground flying straight into a tree knocking both of us out instantly.

We woke up in a hospital room a few hours later. I had one broken arm,

while Tim had fractured his leg and shoulder. As I came to I noticed Tim was talking to one of the nurses.

''That's was very careless of you two doing something like that, you know you could have died. Its a miracle that you two are still here.''

She turned to look at me, ''Ah, I see your friend is finally awake. How are you feeling?'' She asked. ''I think I'll be OK it doesn't hurt.''

''Good then, I'm glad.'' She looked back at Tim then me. ''I was telling Tim here that it'll be a few weeks for you guys to recover from your little adventure. In the meantime, your teachers have informed me that you'll both be exempt from finals, at least until you recover.

I sure hope you learned your lesson and had your laugh.'' she paused and looked over at Tim. He was smiling at me, my worries were gone for the moment. ''Sid?'' She looked at me, I smiled. ''Yes ma'am we did, a penny saved is a dollar well spent.'' We both smiled as the nurse looked at both of us silently, and after a few seconds, we broke into laughter.
