We've been dancing
dancing so long, my shoes have become holey and soulless
sure I've had fun
Feet battered and numb
the bulbs have dimmed and burnt out
candles all melted
the walls around us caught fire
we kept on dancin
on and on, no end in sight
I start to slow, your squeeze grows tight
tired and weary
we twisted and spun
eyes blood shot and teary
For months this goes on
I hope for end
imagination drunk I wander away
only to be sobered by cramping thighs
stop this please my body weeps
You squeeze my hand, I turn, we sweep
exposed and alone we dance and dance
no ceiling, no floor. we should stop now
"that is not how the dance goes"
our bodies flow and flow
My brain slowly corrodes
my heart gently explodes
too long we have labored
never seeking repose
please let it end today
we need to mend our tattered clothes
all life removed from these ragged bones
skin burned and mangled from the sun
I feel like such an idiot, it was never fun
I hate that dance and that fucking song.
