A Poe parody properly presented in Trochaic Octameter.
Once when we were nearly starvin', me and my good brother Marvin
Sat and searched the yellow pages, nearly ages, on the floor.
In our quest to do some snackin', tongues were clickin', lips were smackin'.
Clickin' smackin' smackin' clickin', Marvin yells "Let's get some chicken."
Pickin' finger lickin' chicken, we headed to the Colonel's store.
Pickin' chicken, nothing more.

Only moments later found us pushing on, though traffic bound us,
That damned traffic unrelenting, thus preventing us to score.
Never given thus to give in, on with passion we were driven.
Causing hunger thus to quicken, taste buds ticklin' tongues so thickened
I was stricken, nearly sickened. Where's that chicken we longed for?
Only chicken, nothing more.

Starvin' Marvin started ravin' for the bird that he was cravin'.
Now quite daring he quit caring, swearing we would reach that store.
"Leave the car. We're goin' trekkin'." He said "We'll get there I reckon."
"No goldbrickin', let's get kickin', I want finger lickin' chicken."
Starvin' Marvin boldly roared, as he broke the Colonel's door,
"Give us chicken, nothing more."
