I wrote this while I was thinking about my girl. This is my first attempt at a poem.
Something so small and insignificant, something tarnished that was once shiny and new. Something lost years ago. Only to be found by you. How and where you found it will remain a mystery, it was cast aside by someone in its history. The pain and torment caused by such a small thing. But when you found it my heart began to sing. Everything will be alright, I told myself with my heart full of fright. I know that she will hold it, and keep it with her heart. But the timing wasn’t right. Cast away it was again, tarnished and scarred from pain. Only to be lost again, left out in the rain. Then you happened to find that thing rusted needing repair. Why did you pick it up? Why did you start to care? The door to my heart has been locked so long. As long as you hold that key I know it’s where it belongs
