a narrative poem on grief and loss.
We have left that table untouched
That armchair, unmoved
Your toolbox, right there
Your clothes, kept away from sight
Your camera, lying in the drawer.

That camera.
I look through the dusty lens.
And for a moment, I am in your shoes
Looking at myself
The child that I was
The child that you saw,
and loved.

No words left to say
Only silence can describe
your absence.

Remember those fairy tales?
They made me wonder,
what 'forever' looks like.

Now I have seen the face of eternity.
It wears the mask of death.
