Mama hung the clothes on a line in the back yard on freezing days.

My Mama

Mama, I remember on Mother's day,

You done things in the same old way.

Had 10 children but expected no gifts.

Just what God gave you was a nice lift.

Years went by Mama wanted more,

Was a Mother and good wife for sure.

Wanted new clothes for her to ware,

Jewelry, pretty clothes, and nice hair.

When I got older I bought her things,

She loved her gifts especially rings.

At Christmas time I loved to share,

My gifts with her with love and care.

Mama went home in ninety three.

She lives with God now for eternity.

Yes God called her to come home.

To a new life to heaven she's gone.

It will come my time for God to call.

If I go to heaven I'll be glad He called.

I will reunite with my Mama up there.

So then she'll know how much I care.
