Things creep in the night when everyone else is asleep.
There's a devil standing outside my door. I know there is, for there is no else awake in the house. I can hear all of my family's soft snoring including my dogs loud snore. I hear him again, this time it sounds like he pushed my shoes of the side of the stairs. I start to panic and told myself to close my eyes and go to sleep. Then came the sound of feet trying to come lightly up the stairs without making a sound. I prepare myself for a loud and blood curdling scream at the site of this devil
I peek through my eyes to see the door being slowly opened. It was a short little devil moving very fast around my bed to the other side of me. I tired to keep a normal breathing to make him believe I was asleep. Out of the corner of my eye I see him slowly reaching for my hand. As he did so I covinced myself the only way to survive is to fight back. With courage I found deep within myself I grabbed his hand and my piggybank from my bedside table and began to hit him upside the head. I kept on until he finally fell to the floor and turned on the light quickly. Come to find out it was my oldest neice who had sneaked in for some reason.
