I WAS OK UNTIL SHE BROUGHT OUT THE..... |
{BITEM: #1766586 } THE MONKEY BAR MATCH I was ok until she brought out the tarantula. When we were we’re having a relaxing day beside the pool. We were talking about how hot the day was becoming, as we listen to our favorite band; Drowning Pool. Tara’s house was your typical upper side suburb home. The landscape was the best money could buy with her parents’ money. I have been bff's with Tara since kindergarten. She’s always been a little on the wild side. I believe that’s why we were friends since the first time we met. The first day I saw her she was walking on top of the monkey bars on school. That to me was a great feat in itself, since I was afraid of heights. She was running back and forth egging the boys on about being a fraidy cat. There was a boy named Joe at the time who was not too impressed since he had done the same thing that Tara was doing on the day I met her. Joe hollered up at Tara and said “Why don’t you do something else besides running on the monkey bars. Tara shouted back “Why don’t we race across them and see who’s better then Joe.” Joe took her up on the challenge. The pair ran back and forth on those bars for a good ten minutes. Then Tara said, “Let’s do something more daring than running across because I’m getting bored with this game.” Joe not to be out done by a girl and their stupid ideas said “Ok let’s do a special trick when we get to the end and see who wins.” Tara agreed. Well, by that time there were a dozen kids spectating waiting to see what these daring kids were going to try next. Joe ran across that bars and when he had four bars left in front of him he jumped over the four bars to land in the grass a hundred feet. The spitting kids were hooting and hollering about how cool and brave Joe had been to do his trick. Joe was pretty satisfied that whatever trick Tara could do wouldn’t top that awesome flying catapult. Tara didn’t miss a beat as she ran skipping ever other bar as she went towards the end. She skipped the last three bars by jumping over them and somersaulting threw the air to land three feet in front of the gaping mouthed Joe. All the spectating kids paused in awe and shock for a split second before hooping and hollering that Tara had won the match. I asked her later how she got the courage to leap that far and somersault the air like an acrobat. Tara just smiled and said “I couldn’t let Joe beat me in such a simple thing as monkey bars. We both laughed at that remark. I can tell you this; no boy has ever challenged Tara to another monkey bar match. |
