The Easter Bunny spreads hope and belief... |
We see the snow begin to fade Now into spring, whos heart of jade Does bring sweet warmth and bulbs to shoots, And reaching out she'll coax the roots, Of life and growth and flowering bud To burrow deeper in the mud. While all this life is living on, The Easter Bunny sits upon A small brown stump of oak, and spies A childs Mother in disguise. She creeps along the grassy verge, And hums a tune, some hymn, no dirge. "But Ho!", he wispers to himself, "This lass does not beleive in Elf, nor Goblin, Santa, Bunny too! She is quite empty through and through. I have a plan tucked up my sleeves, I'll not be done till she believes!" So off he hopped towards the gate, Through which the Mother sat and ate An early morning hot cross bun, And so the Bunny's work begun. "First i'll move the eggs around, And she won't know untill they're found." "So then ill put an extra one, Named and labeled for her son, Signed from me the Easter Bunny! He grinned and laughed, and found this funny. She will be shocked, and then confused But then perhaps belief?" he mused. He hid himself beneath a tree, He sat as still as he could be, And very soon the boy came out, His face all smiles, he gave a shout. Till soon he found the labeled egg, He held it up in triumph and said, "Look mum I got the special one!" And licked his lips with chocolate tounge. The clouded eyes of Mother cleared, The Bunny smiled and dissappeared! |
