How did I do with my description? Where am I?
I walked into the place already hungry, to the smells of burgers, grilled chicken, fries and the like. The smells kept wafting out to me now and then. There were at least six customers in front of me, in line. One girl was on the phone with her mother, getting last minute clarifications for their order. The floor had shiny spots here and there, revealing it had been recently mopped- not to mention the subtle scent of cleaning product and the bucket beside the counter, with a dirty mop protruding. A couple men were shifting their feet as though they had been waiting for some time. I could only see two employees, one in front- taking orders, while another was in back, at a machine. It didn't seem like enough employees for the number of customers currently in the place, waiting on food. Machines were beeping in back, not getting the response required as they continued to do so. Suddenly I noticed a 4 year old boy in front of me, who was wearing a turquoise blue tank top. He began stretching his daddy's shirt and stuck his head underneath, pressing his face up against it- leaving his expression poking out. You could tell he had the biggest smile on his face, amused with what he was doing. The scene kept me distracted and amused myself for a bit, until the beeping noises from in back brought my attention back to line. The first person's order still wasn't complete and my feet started shifting too.
