War of Words

the pen is mightier than the sword

we have the power to change nations with word

we smear the lines of truth

so the lies become unblurred

in the night we plan our fight

like lyrical assassins

we live for this

the hunger is our passion

we prepare our weapons

as we grasp a pen

look for our paper

and get ready to begin

steady ourselves

as the ink starts to flow

and in the end

the world will know

how on this day

we stood up

against our once trusted leaders

now dirty and corrupt

we have the power

to change peoples minds

by the truth on our paper

the ink as left behind

free thinkers no longer mere cattle

lead blindly into battle

we have chosen to fight

with the words that we write

we the people are all soldiers at war

with ourselves and the establishment

we speak our minds

irregardless of the consequent

we fight for our rights

that are slowly being taken away

like the censorship

over what we write and say

but the freedom to think

what ever we feel

is god given to us

and no man can steal
