My family!
Boredom causes different emotions. What people do with those thoughts and feelings is their choice. Let me tell you about two spontaneous days.

On Friday night, my husband, children, and I were sitting around the house bored out of our minds. My husband turned to me and said, why don't we all jump in the car and drive to Orlando? We could stay at a hotel for the night and tomorrow, we can go to Universal Studios. The kids jumped up shouting yeah! I looked at him with an expression that said, it's a bad idea while also thinking that the drive to Orlando is two hours depending on traffic. A long with the drive, having two children in the back seat arguing constantly just sucks. Anyway, my husband knew what the look meant. He tells me come on-this time will be different. I listened for a second and said okay. The kids were excited, and began jumping all around. I told them to go pack a few things. They rushed to do so, as I did the same. Once we were all packed, my Hubbie took our bags out to the car. I took a last look around the house making sure the back door was locked, the lights were off in every room except the kitchen's, and then I proceeded to exit and lock my front door. I got in to the car. I was the one driving, my son and daughter were in the back playing their video games, and my husband listened to the radio. Traffic wasn't so bad, so I was making good timing. Half way there, we started to see farm animals. The children were shouting, look ma-the horses. I replied, I see and aren't they beautiful. My Hubbie said, look guys-cows. I took a quick look in my rear view mirror, and saw the smiles on my kid's faces. They warmed my heart! We had done this before and now we were doing it again, but this time felt different. In fact, I had just realized that there was no arguing-no screaming coming from the kids. I didn't know if they were more mature, or if it was just a good day. Either way, I was impressed!

We finally arrived at the Days Inn hotel, I parked the car and we all got out. We walked in to the hotel and rented a room with double beds and a refrigerator. When we got in to our room, I unpacked our belongings. The children said they were hungry, so we decided to go eat. T.G.I Fridays was the closest-we went there! Having dinner at T.G.I Fridays was new to us. We took a minute to look over the menu in order to decide on what we wanted. The waitress came over to take our order. We all asked for the same thing. We had ribs, chicken,

mashed potatoes, salad, and coca-colas. The waitress brought us our food and sat it on the table. I could smell the barbecue ribs, and it was heavenly. Everything smelled good, but the ribs lifted me off my chair. The aroma had me floating on air. When I bit in to one, it was tender; the sauce dripped from the rib, and the taste was amazing. The mashed potatoes

dissolved in my mouth. I embraced the moment! After we were done, we headed back to our hotel room and went to bed. The following day, we woke up bright and early, and prepared for breakfast at Denny's. We ate scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon. We also drank orange juice. It was good, but not something to brag about. Afterwards, we drove to Universal Studios-Islands of Adventure; we parked the car, entered the park, and began the day by getting on the Hulk. The ride is a roller coaster that takes off slowly at first, speeds up to 130 mph, falls downward as it loops and spins, leaving everyone breathless, and then brings us all back in. I

loved feeling the adrenaline that rushed through out my body. Being on a roller coaster felt like skydiving. The feeling was so intense! Someone's first time is usually not their last. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the rush every time. We moved on to rides like Spider Man, Sling Shot, and Jurassic Park. For lunch-we ate cheese pizza, popcorn, and charros. We washed it all down with Pepsi-Colas. We also had free drink refills which kept us going throughout the day. Before closing, I picked up a picture of us on the Hulk. Memories! On the way out, we agreed that we had a wonderful time. We were excited, bloated, and tired.

However, during the drive back home, I thanked my Hubbie for coming up with the idea...for pulling us out of a boring house, and giving us an enjoyable, memorable weekend. We all should live spontaneously once in a while!
