this is my first attemp at writing. chapter sample
Reality slowly started to come back into focus as the adrenalin gave way to a mixture of confusion and horror. It was late at night, but colours had never been more vivid than the ones he saw now. None more so than the red that stained his hands. The colours from the neon signs dancing on the leather jacket of the body that lay before his feet almost tricked him into thinking that their attacker was moving. At this point anything that could indicate some life would feel like a lottery win. But the more his vision focused the more he realised what he had done. He looked up at the reason that all this happened, and she looked back him, her beautiful blues eyes pouring with tears. His stomach felt empty, a gapping black chasm of dread had replaced the blissful warmth he felt not five minutes before. What the hell happened to him? What was going to happen to him? His answer came quickly as the spectrum of reds and greens were punctured by the blue lights of the police van that had pulled up. Sound was slow to catch up with what was going on around him and the officer looked like he was lip synching as he began to question him. He looked back down at his hands, and the bright red he saw seconds ago had become darker and more gruesome.
