Lost

Elise bent over to pick up yet another stray piece of straw off the floor. Mr Grange sure was picky about the state of these rooms. Although you have to expect it from a man who owns a house with 59 rooms - but she still had to clean all of them!
Actually, she thought, there is one room I'm not allowed to go anywhere near... She wondered what it could be. An office? Storage? There were rumours that he kept his old wives locked up in there, for they disappeared soon after he married them. But Elise didn't believe this rubbish the other servants told her.
"ELIIIISE!" Probably the mistress checking on her room again. It's not exactly my room, is it? Elise grimly thought. In fact, nothing was her's. Apparently she didn't even own herself any more! She had been sold off as a slave when she was just a small girl.
When her pa had died... no-one to look after her... she and her sister had got seperated and Elise had been lost.
She hadn't been found though. she was still lost. Lost for, perhaps forever.
