Sad Goodbye

Self-degrading thoughts and jealousy,
The things that help to destroy me.
Despair sets in and hatred forms,
As I desperately try to weather my storms.

My heart has now begun to bleed,
The pain is sharp deep inside of me.
When will the painfull ache subside?
Will it carry me away in the darkened tide?

Depression is my long lasting friend,
It comforts me when happiness ends.
Hope has all but abandoned me,
Yet death is someone I can't see.

I yearn to have him hold my hand,
Take me back to his warm land.
Yet when I reach for him he steps away,
No matter how much i beg for him to stay.

Tears roll down my cold, wet face,
My love, I miss its warm embrace.
But it too has left me here tonight,
With only a whisper, a sad goodbye.
