A bit depressed and low, then looking up - a poem about patience.
A lover rich in meaning, with only half of the rewards,
A sports career floundering, with goals worth reaching towards,
My 9 to 5’s a journey with professional accords,
But none of the profound respect that project work affords…

Like many folks who last this long, my poetry releases
The stress and bitter agony, life’s horror never ceases –
With love and work and hobbies, my life can’t fall to pieces,
But now and then, I find that I am trapped in timeless leases…

The Lord does grant me patience, which He’s forced into my being,
His light is clearly shining down, such love I’m truly seeing –
With all the tasteless rhetoric and dates that I am keying,
My job is surely beneficial, I’m full of prayers and meaning!

The moral of my story is that these expectations carry
The weight of countless episodes of losing which can’t vary…
So while crossing any length of water in any boat or ferry,
Ensure your captain’s Jesus Christ, then travel’s not too scary!

Love can lead to head-scratching, but faithfully, I trod –
A love so true and blessed as this, quite trustingly I nod,
I sacrifice peace to hold her hand, the holy name of God,
Is such a lake for catching fish, with prayerful reel and rod!
