Sometimes we need to watch the pot.
Aunt Suzy cooked chicken dinner.
Careless and just a beginner,
as hours passed by,
the pot became dry,
its bottom black as a sinner.

When Suzy saw it was smoking,
she quickly gave it a soaking.
Flames leaped in the air,
no matter her care,
her chicken lay dead and croaking.

Guests arrived for the house warming.
Suzy looked not very charming.
Her face was all black,
she seemed out of whack,
smoke in the kitchen alarming.

They helped Suzy get to her feet,
hurried her outside to a seat,
then called nine one one,
and when they were done,
they drove to McDonald's to eat.
