A Double Tetractys poem inspired by my first day of school. It seems like yesterday.
A Double Tetractys poem written for Week 5, Poetic Explorations.

School.
First grade.
Catholic
school no less.  God....
I never thought a nun could be so large.

How quickly does a six-year-old's life flash
before his eyes
when faced with
the Stick.
Wackk!

Author Notes:
A Tetractys consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 syllables (total of 20).  It can be written with more than one verse, called a Double Tetractys as in the case above, but must follow suit with an inverted syllable count.
