Change

Change happens every day,

Sometimes in mysterious ways.

It’s going to happen whether you’re ready,

It can knock you off balance or keep you steady.

In my opinion I hate change,

I wish things could stay the same.

Hanging out with all of my friends,

Enjoying the beach on our weekends.

Never having to say good-bye,

Never having a reason to cry.

I wish time would just stop and I would stay the way I am,

Life would be so easy there are so many things I would understand.

But it’s not that way, there will always be change,

Nothing really ever stays the same.

With the exception that you can stay who you are,

Or you can change but that’s your own war.

It’s a battle to stay true to yourself,

And to not listen to anyone else.

But change doesn’t have to mean something bad,

Even though it can be incredibly sad.

It can be the start of something new,

But what you think of it is up to you.
