I gave her life, I cared for her till she was eleven, I watched them bury her.
I carried you in my body
I carried you next to my heart

I held you to my breast
I’d hold you next to my heart

I nursed you when you were sick
I held your head next to my heart

I saw you buried in the ground
I carry you still in my heart
