The wisdom found in nature ... (Form: Double Nonet with Rhyme)
Prophecy

It looks like snow. There's chill in the air.
I contemplate fields lying bare.
Times of rain and heat have worn
colors dull. My shirt's torn
and my straw's scattered.
I'm left tattered
to join the
earth I
love.
I
am not
sad, for it's
just nature's flow
that, in time, we'll go
beyond this place, this time.
Reassured, I start the climb
toward horizons I can't see.
We'll meet once more ... in eternity.

Notes
An entry in week 3 of "Poetic ExplorationOpen in new Window. [E], a year long journey through the many forms of poetry. The goal is to understand, write, and come to appreciate 50 poetic forms in 2011.
Form: Nonet
A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables, the second line eight syllables, the third line seven syllables, etc... until line nine that finishes with one syllable. It can be on any subject and rhyming is optional. A double has 18 lines with the last 9 reversed in syllable count.

Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise *Smile* - are all equally welcome.

Ken
